If multiple displays are in use, the editor will detect the available monitors and display them for you to choose between. Double-clicking a layout will apply it and automatically close the editor. The selected layout is applied automatically. Selecting a layout shows a preview of that layout on the monitor.

When first launched, the zones editor presents a list of layouts that can be adjusted by how many windows are on the monitor. This was updated so that it does not conflict with Windows Terminal Quake mode shortcut. Previous to PowerToys v0.39, this shortcut was Win+ ` without Shift. Launch the zones editor using the button in the PowerToys Settings menu or by pressing Win+ Shift+ ` ("back-tick" or "accent grave" note that this shortcut can be changed in the Settings dialog). Getting started with the editorįancyZones includes an editor to give you more control over your window layouts that can be accessed in the PowerToys Settings dashboard. Read PowerToys and running as administrator for more information.

#WINDOWS POWER SUITE PC#
PC Power Suite certainly attempts to be all things to all users, but it may be a case of too much for the less-experienced user and not enough to differentiate it from other products for the advanced user.FancyZones is a window manager utility for arranging and snapping windows into efficient layouts to improve the speed of your workflow and restore layouts quickly. Most operated well, but this basic suite doesn't attempt any overly robust functions. Function setups are similar, which helps reduce the learning curve. The comprehensive suite includes programs to clean your system and browsers, optimize memory, Windows, or the Registry, search for spyware, back up system files, find duplicate files, or manage icons. With so many options, this program could leave users overwhelmed, but all include easily set options, and most default to start with Windows after first run. PC Power Suite loads numerous stand-alone functions. However, clicking the desktop eliminates the frozen backup dialog box. So slowly, in fact, that it never seems to finish. On first run, this program slowly backs up your system Registry.

A comprehensive manual also includes information on functions not available in this version of the program. PC Power Suite's multipage icon and menu interface confusingly includes options available only in other versions of the product. This program includes numerous functions to improve the speed, safety, and privacy of your system, but it suffers from a couple of problems.
